Vendors Otto and Stephanie Pfeiffer have owned the luxury house on the Sovereign Islands for the past 20 years but are now ready to let it go.

A true statement home with no expense spared, the residence offers spectacular views of the Broadwater, Hinterland, South Stradbroke Island and Ephraim Island.

Front gates welcome you into the property from the street while 300-year-old antique Indonesian doors create an inspirational welcome to the house.

The front doors are 300-year-old antique Indonesian doors.

Impressive internal finishes integrate sandstone flooring with curved rendered walls, feature niches and built-in seating while two curved staircases – one inside and one outside, allow easy access to the second level.

Mr and Mrs Pfeiffer bought the property in 2002- they knew they wanted it as a holiday home before they left the inspection.

“My wife said while we were inside ‘have you got your cheque book,” Mr Pfeiffer said with a smile.

“It was just so unique and a little bit different.

“There’s no other Mexican (inspired) houses on the Sovereign Islands or even on the northern Coast.”

Feature niches and rendered walls are a common theme.

The house was built with a solid concrete block construction and suspended concrete slab under the craftsmanship of renowned builder Martin Fiebig, who has built a raft of luxury homes on the Gold Coast.

“The previous owners were a couple – he was American and she was Australian,” Mr Pfeiffer, the former Cable Ski World owner, said.

“They had been in Mexico and had lots of pictures of Mexican properties and they came back and built this property.

“They only got to live in it a year before they went back to America.”

The sandstone flooring is a standout feature.
