With summer well and truly here and Christmas knocking at our door, the Gold Coast market scene is turning things up— just like the temperature. Is there anything more Gold Coast than browsing the Sunday morning markets, with your reusable bag in one hand and your iced almond latte in the other?

The local markets are the perfect spot to stock up on locally-grown, fresh produce, snag a unique handmade gift and feel totally smug that you’re up early on a weekend. Thankfully, we are blessed on the Gold Coast with an abundance of markets that will satisfy all your market-trawling cravings.

Twilight Markets


Tamborine’s Annual Twilight Mammoth Market is returning this month and if their last market was anything to go by, you don’t want to miss this massive event. Held at the iconic Bearded Dragon Hotel, you can expect live music, a huge garden bar, food trucks and kids entertainment. Now we like the sound of that. This market showcases the beautiful Tamborine region, their arts and crafts, local crafted spirits and talented performers, making for a gorgeous Friday night out. P.S we heard that Santa and his elves might be paying a very special visit..

We love when we hear a new market is making its home on the Coast and once we heard about this one, we knew it was going to be a goodie. The TwiLIT Markets are a blessing to our northern friends (no more long car rides just to fuel our market-hopping passion) and will be coming to Helensvale every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night starting from Friday 19 November. This community market will be jam packed full of food trucks, pony rides, jumping castles, fresh produce, artisan crafts and, of course, loads of Christmas goodies. If you’re struggling to find that oh-so-perfect Christmas gift, don’t fret, just head down to the TwiLIT markets and prepare to earn major brownie points.

Our love affair with Miami Marketta started a long time ago and it’s not finishing any time soon. This iconic local gem is held every Friday and Saturday night (and on a smaller scale on Wednesdays) and pulls together some of the best ethnic food stalls from across the Coast. Pair it with an electric vibe, a revolving roster of toe-tapping bands and DJs, multiple cocktail bars, a dessert hall, fashion stalls and a buzzing family-friendly crowd, and you’ve got one of the best markets on the Gold Coast.

Do you get depressed when picking through the tiny all-organic veggie offerings at the local Woolies? Well, you’ll find mindful foodie nirvana at the Organic Gold Coast Farmers Market. Popping up at Miami State High School every Sunday morning, this super chill market stocks, you guessed it, nothing but sustainably sourced, spray and chemical-free produce.

Does it feel like you are always running out of ideas to keep the kids entertained every weekend? Don’t worry—we’ve got your back. At Jacobs Well Heritage Fair you’ll be spoiled for choice and can expect to see showground style kids’ rides, games, showground food (dagwood dogs and fairy floss, yes please), a climbing wall, live entertainment, market stalls and a range of heritage attractions including classic cars and a vintage fire engine. One of the most well-loved and iconic markets on the Coast, the Carrara Markets are rightfully hailed as a bargain hunter’s paradise. Claiming the title of Australia’s permanent largest marketplace, they boast over 400 market stalls, food vans and attractions. Walk-in butterfly house, anyone? The markets are a must-see tourist attraction and if you’re a local who hasn’t ventured there yet, what are you doing? Get onto it!

We love everything about the Hope Island Marina Markets—from unique artisan gifts to fashionable clothes, stunning flower displays and adorable knick knacks you didn’t know you needed (but definitely do), there’s something for everyone. This boutique pop up market is positioned on the stunning Marina waterfront, so have a wander and grab a coffee at one of the gorgeous nearby cafes.
